The art of post-modern zen in occult technique
There are many films that have affected the trajectory of my life. One of them: the 1998 cult classic “The Big Lebowski.”
I’m not the only one who was touched by the grace of The Dude. The movie inspired a legit religion, and I’m one of 600,000 ordained priest in the Church of the Latter Day Dude. And yes, I can legally officiate weddings.
My appreciation of The Dude has grown over the years, especially as I go deeper into the occult and psychedelics. At first, he was just a loveable loser in a cute movie. But somewhere along the way, I realized that he was like a misunderstood monk, who wanders around the world, getting into misadventures, seemingly aimless…and yet while he gazes at the dusky pinks and plums of twilight and deeply enjoys his rug, white Russians, and bowling, the rest of us so-called “productive members of society” are bed rotting, doom scrolling, taking melatonin to sleep.
We try to relax.
The Dude is relaxed.
We know being relaxed is optimal and good, and we want to be optimized and we want to be good boys and girls.
The Dude just is relaxed. It is his way.
